IPL: Pooran posts a tweet about CSK; tweet goes viral on social media

West Indies international Nicholas Pooran failed to live up to his reputation in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. Punjab Kings’ player managed to aggregate only 28 runs in 7 games.

The statistics are indeed worse considering a player of his stature. The wicketkeeper-batsman registered his best score of just 19 this season. Well, this pretty much sums up his performance.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India came up with a positive update on resumption of IPL 2021. So far, 29 fixtures have been staged in India before BCCI postponed the tournament for obvious reasons.

The remainder of the tournament (31 fixtures) will be hosted in the United Arab Emirates. The UAE leg will go all guns blazing on September 19 and the IPL 2021 final will kick-off on October 15.

As of now, Delhi Capitals are on top of the points table. They played 8 games wherein they won 6 games and lost twice. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are second with 5 wins and 2 defeats in 7 games.

One more victory will see CSK top the table in the UAE. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians are third and fourth on the points table. RCB secured 10 points while the defending champions secured 8 points.

Nicholas Pooran old tweet about CSK goes viral

Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran’s old tweet about Chennai Super Kings has been doing the rounds on social media. In 2013, the West Indies international posted a tweet about MS Dhoni-led CSK. Although it didn’t draw the attention of the fans at that time, it has gone viral now.

Last year, when IPL happened in the UAE, Punjab Kings lost to CSK. CSK won the game by 10 wickets to clinch the match. The West Indies international scored 33 off just 17 deliveries. On the other hand, KL Rahul scored 63 to help KXIP post 178.

But PBKS bowlers didn’t take even a single wicket against CSK. After the defeat, his tweet spread like wildfire which he posted on his birthday on October 3, 2013. “Is there a better birthday gift than beating Chennai Super Kings?”
